Thousands of racing fans, industry partners, and fashion enthusiasts gathered for the 2026 Hollywoodbets Durban July which is one of South Africa's most celebrated sporting and social events. The occasion once again transformed a day at the races into a spectacular celebration of entertainment, style, and community. This year, Amusnet proudly joined the experience as the event's Official Gamification Partner, bringing its own vibrant touch to one of Africa's most iconic racing traditions. 

Celebrating its landmark 130th edition under the theme Country Allure, the event once again transformed a day at the races into a spectacular showcase of sport, fashion, entertainment, and South African culture.

For Amusnet, the occasion marked another milestone in a growing partnership with one of the country's most prestigious racing events. After proudly sponsoring Race 5 – the Amusnet Devon Air Stakes at the Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge earlier this year, the company returned to Greyville Racecourse as the Official Gamification Partner of the Hollywoodbets Durban July and the official race sponsor of Race 5 – the Grade 2 Amusnet Golden Slipper.

Throughout the day, visitors were welcomed into the vibrant Amusnet Candy Palace activation area. The activation drew inspiration from Candy Palace, one of Amusnet's excellently performing top 10 games. Designed around a whimsical world of sweets, vibrant visuals, and rewarding gameplay, the game has become a player favorite thanks to its engaging mechanics and cheerful atmosphere. Bringing Candy Palace to life at the Hollywoodbets Durban July allowed guests to step into the game's playful universe, creating a seamless connection between Amusnet's digital entertainment and one of South Africa's most celebrated lifestyle events. 

The activation zone became a lively destination where guests gathered to celebrate, connect, and experience the festive atmosphere that makes the Hollywoodbets Durban July one of Africa's most iconic sporting and lifestyle events.

One of the highlights of the activation was the Candy Palace Best Dressed Competition, celebrating the creativity, confidence, and elegance that have become synonymous with the Durban July. The prize ceremony was hosted by Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg, Miss World South Africa 2024 and a Miss South Africa 2026 contender, alongside renowned fashion designer Žarko Jansen van Rensburg, who designed her striking race-day look. Together, they presented the grand prize cheque to Karabo Bapela and Mike Danisa.

The excitement continued on the track during the Grade 2 Amusnet Golden Slipper, where Palace Of Arvernia, ridden by accomplished jockey Craig Zackey, delivered an impressive winning performance. Irina Rusimova, Chief Commercial Officer at Amusnet, had the honour of presenting the trophy to the winning connections, celebrating one of the day's standout sporting moments.
